Recipe: My Famous BBQ Sauce

Summary: A very easy, and tasty all be it drunk to the gills BBQ souce.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup Blackberry Rum
  • 1/2 tsp Liquid Smoke
  • 2 fl. oz olive oil (Not Virgin)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon Balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves minced fine.
  • 1/2 tsb Fresh Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper Sauce – optional
  • Pinch of dry chilli flakes – optional

Instructions

  1. In a 5 qt saucepan combine all ingredients and bring to a simmer over medium low heat.
  2. Cook for 5-10 minutes or until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. let cool to room temperature.
  5. Place in canning jar and store in refrigerator for 1 week, or freeze in plastic container for 1 year.
