Rev. June Harmon

My name is Pastor June L. Harmon. I was born the fourth child of five children. I was raised in the southwest suburbs of Chicago Illinois in a town called Summit. I lived through molestation at the age of 5-8 years of age by an uncle and much childhood depression. I have my heart to Jesus at 7 and found strength to tell my abuser “no more.”

“Listen to Me, O islands. Listen, you people from far away. The Lord called Me before I was born. From the body of My mother he said My name.” Isaiah 49:1 NLV

I ran as far as I could from home at 18. I moved to Texas with an 83 year old spirit-filled aunt. I began to know the Lord a little more intimately but still had not recognized the power. I miscarried my first pregnancy and became pregnant again a year later with my son.

After depression set in from not dealing with all the disappointments in the past, I contemplated suicide. The Lord spoke to me and told me to move back home. He told me to call my oldest sister and ask if I could move in with her. So, I moved to Milwaukee to an apartment owned by a Pastor of a new spirit-filled church.

“The Lord says, “I have answered You at the right time. I have helped You in a day when people are saved. I will keep You and give You for an agreement to the people, to make the land good again, and to give them their land which had been destroyed.” Isaiah 49:8 NLV

I married my son’s father. He became a drug user and physically abusive. The depression got unbearable. I moved back to my home town near my parents to help me with my son. My father died 4 months later. I reunited with my high school boyfriend, but, God wanted me right with Him. So, I was released from my husband and was given time to heal. I married my high school boyfriend. Then the Lord called me into the ministry. A year later we were blessed with a beautiful daughter.

I was ordained minister in 1994 at Antioch Baptist Church under Pastor Wilbur Garrett. I was the first woman ever to be ordained in 73 years at that church. I worked in the children’s ministry. youth ministry, women’s ministry, prison ministry, Sunday School superintendent, and pulpit assistant.

“But I said, “My work has been for nothing. I have spent My strength for nothing. Yet for sure what should come to Me is with the Lord, and My pay is with My God.” Isaiah 49:4 NLV

We moved to Rochelle, Illinois for my husband’s job. It was an all white farm area in the corn fields. We had to overcome prejudice i nthe community and the churches. I was declaring my calling and they were denouncing my every existence. I was harassed by the police. But, God brought us through. I joined a woman’s ministry called Women of Aglow which allowed me to keep my focus.

“This is what the Lord, the One Who saves Israel, and its Holy One, says to the hated One, to the One hated by the nations, to the Servant of rulers: “Kings will see and rise up. Rulers will also bow down, because of the Lord Who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel Who has chosen You.” Isaiah 49:7 NLV

After September 11, 2001 (911), the Lord pressed upon me to do what I was called to do, which was to Pastor a church in Rochelle. Keys of the Kingdom Church was birthed and founded in our living room. We grew in record time and it allowed us to touch the community. We saw many saved and baptized through this ministry.

I got sick and had to have numerous surgeries, but the Lord restored my health. I give God all the praise in my life.

Now my family and I have begun to serve with A Ministry of Restoration in Rockford, Illinois under Apostle Elmer D. Martin and Pastor Ruby J. Martin. I serve on their Board and Pastor their Outreach ministry.
