I was taught at a young age to appreciate technology. My mother became very interested in computers and began studying everything she could get her hands on. Eventually she became MCSE certified, and was even offered a job a Microsoft. Her love of this industry ran down her genes into my own, and that’s how I came to be part of this wonderful team.
I am a graduate of the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind, I have taken several courses in database development, and spreadsheet creation. I have a strong history in Electronic Data Interchange or EDI. My first computer was a Sharp X68000 XVI Compact. It was a great machine for me at the tender age of 12. Ours had 6 MB RAM (wow) and ran Windows 2.0, but we eventually upgraded to 3.1. These days I run a Pentium IV 2.2GHz 768 MB RAM Gateway that runs Windows XP Pro. My duties around here are to make sure everything works the way it’s supposed to. I do basic office stuff, I proof websites and programs, and I do everything else that needs to be done. While sadly my mother is no longer with us, I have carried the torch of her love for computers into a career that I love. Without that seed she planted I may never have met my husband. |
